Apprenticeship Scheme
Accelerated route to data science and machine learning
Are you a student, graduate or professional possessing an analytical mind and an interest in becoming a data scientist? We take talented individuals and upskill them into data science and machine learning in order to increase diversity within this field.
Here at Mindstream Academy we will subsidise you to undergo an intensive training course run by the head of Mindstream AI's Academy. After the training we will make best endeavours to place you on a paid 12 week work placement focussed on data science, with on going support and mentorship.
You’ll get to work in a team and learn from some of the most talented and experienced professionals in the industry, and benefit from an extensive training programme that’s unique to Mindstream AI.
What you will learn
The course is aimed to be very practical and will take the student through the entire process of taking a data set and producing a proof of concept using Python. The student will be taken through the entire process of obtaining data until final output, defining the question, extracting data using Python, processing the data using exploratory data analysis then analysing the data using statistical techniques such as distributions, samplings and t-tests to come up with solutions. The following will be taught across the 7 weeks:
-
Defining the research question and the cohort
-
Data extraction and pre-processing
-
Exploratory data analysis
-
Foundations of statistics and machine learning
-
Results visualisation and reporting
The student will learn and apply the following throughout the course:
-
Python
-
Machine Learning
-
Regression Models and Time Series
-
Natural Language Processing
-
Big Data Systems
